Imagine being draged under water and searching your west for a knife in a strap or even worse in a pocket! The inboard end issue is bigger than you make it out to be and it is dissapointing that you write your conclusions without testing them out in practice.  Armchair reporting at best.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In addition; you didn&amp;#39;t research the market well.  There are ORC compliant tethers available where the snaps are made out of anodized aluminium (and there is even a titanium version available).
